Support for SDN and DDoS mitigation solutions highlighted

SEATTLE – F5 Networks (NASDAQ: FFIV) today announced it has been recognized with an HP AllianceOne Award in the “HP Networking – Networking Optimization” category at the HP Discover 2014 conference.

This award recognizes F5 for its work with HP, particularly around software defined networking (SDN). As an example of recent collaboration, integration between F5’s BIG-IP® platform and the HP VAN SDN Controller demonstrated improved performance and security by augmenting DDoS mitigation capabilities.

“The goal of our partnership is to provide integrated capabilities that automate, optimize, and otherwise increase the value of joint deployments for customers,” said Sangeeta Anand, senior vice president, Product Management and Product Marketing, F5. “This award signals that F5’s emphasis on Software Defined Application Services™ is aligned with the HP SDN approach. F5 aims to help organizations realize the benefits of intelligent, programmable systems that seamlessly combine powerful capabilities from industry-leading vendors.”

The HP AllianceOne partner program offers a solid framework for collaboration by integrating servers, storage, networking, security, power & cooling, and services. As a member of the AllianceOne program, F5 leverages HP AllianceOne solutions, tools, and resources to help clients speed time to application deployment, optimize infrastructure capacity, reduce power consumption, and free resources to focus on innovation that drives business growth.

Since 2007, HP Networking has provided organizations with open standards-based SDN solutions, including 30 million OpenFlow ports and its VAN SDN Controller, which enable customers to explore new business models and align their networks with business goals. HP customers and partners have access to HP’s comprehensive SDN ecosystem, including the software development kit (SDK) and SDN applications.

“Congratulations to F5 Networks on its HP AllianceOne Partner of the Year Award for HP Networking – Networking Optimization,” said Doug Oathout, vice president, Channel and Alliances, Enterprise Marketing, HP. “F5 has demonstrated outstanding dedication and expertise in addressing the business and technology needs of its customers by helping them improve protection against DDoS attacks, significantly reducing the overall impact on valuable IT services, as well as extending the reach of SDN.”

The HP AllianceOne Award winners were selected by representatives of the HP areas in which awards were given, and presented to outstanding HP partners who have demonstrated the ability to develop and deliver solutions that clearly set them apart from others, as well as provide proof of their solutions’ value to their customers and to HP.
